Robotics Engineer, Austin TX

You will tackle complex autonomy challenges in small aerial robotics, focusing on the design and testing of navigation, tracking, and stabilization algorithms for our platforms. Your role will involve developing and validating models through simulations in various representative environments to enhance navigation performance in GNSS-denied scenarios. As an early team member, you will work across software interfaces, operating systems, algorithm development, simulation, and optimization to ensure our autonomous systems navigate reliably in challenging conditions. Responsibilities:

  • Develop robotics systems for autonomous operations, focusing on navigation and sensor integration.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotics systems with various components.

  • Research and implement new robotics technologies, including machine learning algorithms.

  • Conduct tests and simulations to optimize robotics systems' performance.

  • Provide technical support for deploying robotics systems in diverse environments.

  • Stay updated on robotics advancements and integrate cutting-edge technologies.

  • Document design processes and testing results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Robotics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.

  • 5+ years of robotics engineering experience, with a focus on autonomy or navigation.

  • Proficiency in C++, C, and Python for robotics applications.

  • Experience deploying AI on edge devices or servers.

  • Strong understanding of control theory and robotics simulation tools.

  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems in robotics.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
